Contract: 2 Year PAYE Contract, Accommodation & Travel Costs Covered in Day Rate

About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to provide technical engineering support across a major oil and gas production asset. The role will focus on ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of rotating equipment, including compressors, pumps, engines, and associated systems. You will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, and Project teams, providing engineering assurance across maintenance, reliability, asset integrity, modifications, and capital projects.

This would suit an experienced Mechanical / Rotating Equipment Engineer with a strong background supporting onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist rotating equipment engineering support across compressors, pumps, engines, and associated systems.
  • Develop and optimise preventive and predictive maintenance strategies alongside Maintenance and Operations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and recurring reliability issues, undertaking root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support inspection, testing, and condition monitoring programmes to improve equipment reliability and extend asset life.
  • Ensure equipment and engineering activities comply with relevant API, ASME, ISO, and applicable industry standards.
  • Provide technical input into capital projects, brownfield modifications, and equipment upgrades, including specifications, design reviews, and commissioning.
  • Review and approve rotating equipment work scopes, job packs, and method statements.
  • Manage and technically oversee specialist contractors, OEMs, and equipment vendors.
  • Support turnaround, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, and other technical risk assessments.
  • Support Management of Change activities, assessing the technical impact of operational and design modifications.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain engineering documentation including datasheets, calculations, drawings, and operating/maintenance procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
