Senior Russian-English Linguist

The Senior Russian-English Linguist role within the Linguistics department ensures high-quality Russian-to-English language services fully aligned with client requirements and market-specific expectations.

This role focuses on elevating quality standards for Russian-to-English work, with an emphasis on iGaming (casino and sports betting) content. The role requires exceptional linguistic judgement, strong iGaming market knowledge, and meticulous attention to terminology, tone, compliance, formatting, and client requirements.

You will be responsible for the overall quality of Russian-to-English language deliverables, applying your awareness of current priorities and workloads. You will act as a senior point of reference for RU-EN linguistic queries, iGaming terminology, client style and quality standards.

This is a hybrid role out of our office in Leeds, and although our preference is for local candidates, we are open to remote applications for those who meet the requirements.

Contract: Permanent, full-time
Salary: £33,000 - £37,000 (depending on experience)

Responsibilities

  • Translate, edit, and proofread a range of Russian-to-English content, specialising in iGaming (sportsbook, casino, affiliate, promotional, CRM, UX, and marketing)
  • Carry out senior-level review of RU-EN deliverables for accuracy, style, tone, terminology, market suitability, and client guideline adherence
  • Perform in-situ review of localised content, including websites, landing pages, apps, banners, emails and other digital assets
  • Conduct rigorous quality assurance checks covering terminology, formatting, tags, links, compliance, and client instructions
  • Act as a senior linguistic specialist for Russian-to-English iGaming content, supporting quality across sportsbook, casino, live casino, poker, esports, payments, bonuses, responsible gambling and affiliate content
  • Maintain strong awareness of iGaming terminology, promotional mechanics, betting concepts, casino game terminology, product features and player-facing language
  • Support the development of a strong, competent RU-EN quality team across translation specialists, translators and quality assurance executives
  • Use Linguistic Quality Assessment (LQA) findings, client feedback, audits and recurring project issues to identify individual and team development needs
  • Provide clear, constructive and practical feedback to linguists and QA colleagues, helping them improve accuracy, style, terminology use, market awareness and attention to detail
  • Create, maintain and improve RU-EN glossaries, termbases, style guides, client instructions and iGaming-specific language resources
  • Communicate clearly with Senior Managers, Project Managers, Account Managers and QA teams, ensuring visibility on priorities, risks, deadlines and solutions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
