Wokingham 24 Hour Practice

If you are looking for a busy, growing 24-hour practice with a fabulous team and a lovely client base, Wokingham 24 Hour is the place to be.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Nurse to support our Head Nurse with the management of the clinical nursing team and overseeing the clinical operations on a day-to-day basis.

You will be accountable for the clinical delivery of nurse-led appointments and will be required to support the vet team with procedures as required ensuring we deliver exceptional care always to our clients, patients, and colleagues whilst maintaining the highest levels of regulatory and operational standards and compliance. There will be a level of seniority within the role and we are looking for a team member who will be happy to manage their environment in a fair yet firm way.

Each shift will be for 8 hours, excluding the lunch break, and there is a requirement to work every 4th weekend, either a Saturday or a Sunday - with a day off in lieu being allocated or the day can be paid for. There is also a requirement to be on the on-call rota, all of which can be discussed at the interview stage.

Location

Wokingham is a lovely market town and we are based just outside the main hub of Wokingham, in a leafy residential area, plenty of parking, and a lovely pub over the road for an after-work wind down. We are the OOH support for surrounding Medivet practices and a non-Medivet independent vets and pride ourselves on the relationships we form. About You

You’re a RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care. You’re a team player who wants to make a real difference in a practice that values and supports you. You have a good work ethic, the confidence to lead by example and guide the team accordingly, a good sense of humour, and a desire to put animals in our care first.

What You’ll Be Doing

Typically, in this role, you’ll:

  • Support the Head Nurse in overseeing the effectiveness of the clinical areas and performance of the nursing team. Our nursing team currently consists of 6 RVNs, 2 SVNs, and a VCA. In addition, we have 3 night RVNs.
  • Support the vet team where needed. Our vet team currently consists of 5 day vets and 3 night vets.
  • Monitor stock levels and have an awareness of cost-saving and effective stock management.
  • Deliver exceptional care to patients, carrying out nurse-led appointments and schedule 3 activities, supporting consults, surgeries, and procedures, complying with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care, and manage admissions and discharges.
  • Deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive team.
