Vacancy: Adult Safeguarding Practitioner at Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT)

Safeguarding is a valued and integral part of multi-disciplinary working across the Trust. MFT has created the opportunity for a full-time Senior Specialist Adult Safeguarding Nurse to assist the Matron/ Named Nurses within the trust. The post involves opportunities to contribute to wider practice development and initiatives surrounding adult safeguarding.

Safeguarding is integral to Governance arrangements within MFT and we are looking for someone with a commitment to high standards and a belief in delivering reliable and quality service provision in an area of work that is demanding and challenging but rewarding. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively across the wider MFT footprint, supporting colleagues at all Trust sites by providing expert safeguarding advice, specialist knowledge, education and professional leadership to promote consistent and effective safeguarding practice.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Adult Named Nurse in working to conform to the mandatory and statutory frameworks to ultimately improve the outcomes for adults at risk across the MFT footprint.
  • Use own initiative and have good interpersonal skills in dealing with both internal and external agencies.
  • Recent experience of working directly with adults at risk and in need of protection and support will be evident as will experience in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
