Company Description
★ HornerSalus Ltd has a new position available for a Senior Safety Advisor to join our leading event and fire safety organisation in Victoria, London.
The role requires an individual with varied event experience, a proactive approach to assisting our team and our clients with events and projects, sustained focus, and a great team-work ethic. HornerSalus is a specialist event safety consultancy who provide expert advice and services to the event, design, fashion, hospitality, film, and creative industries.
Based in Victoria you can expect to be working with a very friendly and supportive team along with exposure to a wide variety of exciting projects here in London, across the UK, and overseas with many of our projects spanning Europe and the U.S. Add to this mix a fantastic selection of award-winning clients, whom we help navigate complex safety considerations and deliver brave creative concepts.
Here’s a snapshot of some of the projects we worked across in May and June of this year. Events during this period saw us working across a variety of London locations and further afield including:
- Goodwood: Festival of Speed (8 events)
- Birmingham: NEC event
- Cornwall: product launch
- Silverstone: F1
- Florence: private wedding
- Miami: fashion show & after party
- L.A: party
- Cannes: Lions (16 events)
- Peru: private event
In total, we provided consultancy, support, site safety and specialist fire safety services to 58 live projects over a six-week period.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with some flexibility for remote work. As a Senior Safety Advisor at HornerSalus Ltd, your role and duties will include:
The Role:
- Assisting in, composing, and implementing solutions to H&S challenges for live events and in the workplace
- Conducting feasibility reports, capacity studies, audits, on-site inspections, and general reporting
- Liaison with clients, contractors, suppliers, and venues to ensure management and implementation of safety procedures
- Production of event safety plans, risk assessments, emergency procedures, fire safety plans, crisis planning and crowd management plans
- Production of fire risk assessments
- Working at live events as a safety advisor
- Attendance at client and venue meetings, event inspections, SAG meetings, table top sessions
Role requirements:
- NEBOSH General Certificate L3 or NCRQ Certificate in Applied Health and Safety, as a minimum
- Excellent understanding of risk assessments, event safety plans and fire safety
- 3+ years experience in a similar safety role
- Very good communicator with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Very good written and spoken English language
- Fire Safety qualification at L3 / L4
- Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Ability to plan, prioritise and organise effectively
- IT literacy and ability to present clearly and confidently to management
- A conscientious and rule-bound individual with a strong sense of diplomacy
- An excellent head for organisation and problem solving
- An ability to work with sustained focus
- Ability to treat high-level information with the strictest of confidence at all times

Desired Skills & Experience:
- L5 or 6 qualification in Health, Safety or Fire; (or working towards this)
- Applied knowledge of live events, venues and contractors
- Tech IOSH Accreditation, working towards CMIOSH
- Mac computer and software knowledge
The deal:
- A full-time permanent position (upon successful completion of a probationary period)
- A competitive salary for the right candidate; Package up to £55k, depending on experience
- Overtime earnings for site work at competitive rates
