If you join us, you can play your part as a Senior Safety Case Engineer within our Business Winning team at one of our main sites: Warrington (Cheshire), Preston (Lancashire), Leicester (Leicestershire), Newbury (Berkshire), or Bristol.
As part of our Business Winning team, you’ll play a central role in developing the safety case solutions that help us secure the major clean-energy, nuclear-defence and decommissioning programmes that support the UK’s long-term resilience. You’ll shape innovative approaches, influence high-value bids, and guide technical excellence from the earliest stages of project development.
The Role
As a Senior Safety Case Engineer within our Business Winning, you’ll bring your deep safety case knowledge to the early phases of project development.
This is a full-time role based at one of our main sites: Warrington (Cheshire), Preston (Lancashire), Leicester (Leicestershire), Newbury (Berkshire), or Bristol with travel to other Cavendish Nuclear and customer locations as required. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
- Lead safety-case contributions to major bids.
- Develop safety case scopes, schedules, and verification plans.
- Produce and review safety case documentation and technical reports.
- Support hazard identification and risk assessment processes.
- Promote collaboration and continuous improvement.
Essential experience for the Senior Safety Case Engineer:
- Proven experience within a highly regulated environment.
- Experience contributing to safety case documentation.
- Understanding of ALARP principles and ONR Safety Assessment Principles.
- Ability to prepare technical analyses and safety submissions.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Qualifications of the Senior Safety Case Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
