Job Description

Senior Sales Account Manager | Glasgow, Scotland

Do you have the commercial insight and relationship-building skills to become a trusted partner to some of Scotland’s most important energy organisations?

GE Vernova is looking for an exceptional Senior Sales Account Manager to join our Grid Solutions – Grid Systems Integration team, with Glasgow as the strongly preferred location.

GE Vernova – The Energy to Change the World

With over 130 years of experience and proven innovation, GE Vernova is leading a new era of energy. We are electrifying the world while working to decarbonise it.

Our name reflects our mission. “GE” carries a legacy of quality and ingenuity. “Ver” signals Earth’s lush ecosystems, while “Nova” represents the new era of lower-carbon energy we are helping to deliver.

Focused on the future, GE Vernova is accelerating the shift to reliable, affordable and sustainable energy. We help customers power economies and deliver electricity that is vital to health, safety and quality of life.

Electrification

Our Electrification solutions modernise grids, enable renewable integration and strengthen energy systems. From grid technologies and software to power conversion and storage, we help create smarter, more resilient energy networks.

Within Grid Solutions, our Grid Systems Integration business delivers complete high-voltage alternating current and direct current solutions, including engineering, procurement and associated construction services. These range from individual infrastructure upgrades to major, complex programmes worth hundreds of millions of pounds.

Let’s Talk About The Role

As Senior Sales Account Manager, you will lead and develop our strategic customer relationships across Scotland, positioning GE Vernova as a trusted long-term partner to utilities, developers, industrial organisations and emerging energy customers.

Reporting to the Grid Systems Integration North & South Europe Commercial and Tendering Leader, you will build relationships with senior and executive-level stakeholders, understand customers’ long-term investment priorities and translate their needs into commercially viable opportunities.

You will work closely with Sales, Tendering, Engineering, Commercial Operations, Marketing and wider regional teams to shape customer strategies, develop opportunities and align the organisation around customer requirements.

This is a newly created individual contributor role, providing dedicated commercial leadership for Scotland. You will have the opportunity to shape GE Vernova’s strategic account approach within the market while leading through influence across a complex, international organisation.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior and executive-level stakeholders across Scottish utilities and other strategic customers.
  • Develop and implement account and sales plans that support profitable growth, pipeline development, order intake and long-term market positioning.
  • Understand customers’ electrification, grid resilience, sustainability and decarbonisation priorities and translate them into opportunities for GE Vernova.
  • Act as a strategic adviser to customers, connecting their operational and investment needs with relevant technical and commercial solutions.
  • Map customer organisations, identifying decision-makers, influencers, supporters and potential barriers to successful engagement.
  • Develop relationship strategies that strengthen GE Vernova’s position and improve customer satisfaction, trust and advocacy over time.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and establish relationships with new customers across utilities, renewable-energy development, industry, data centres and other emerging sectors.
  • Conduct market and customer analysis to identify future investment programmes, regulatory developments and new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate internal technical, commercial and operational teams around customer needs throughout the opportunity lifecycle.
  • Shape competitive customer solutions and support the development of major bids and proposals alongside Sales and Tendering colleagues.
  • Support commercial and contractual negotiations, helping to secure appropriate commercial terms, governance and risk mitigation.
  • Identify and support strategic partnerships and alliances that strengthen GE Vernova’s ability to deliver competitive and profitable solutions.
  • Manage the customer relationship from initial engagement and onboarding through opportunity development, delivery relationships, repeat business and renewals.
  • Maintain accurate account plans, customer activity, opportunity pipelines and forecasts using Salesforce.
  • Provide regular insights and recommendations on account performance, customer priorities, market developments and future opportunities.
  • Represent GE Vernova at customer meetings, industry events, conferences and networking forums across Scotland.
  • Comply with Grid Solutions Sales and Tendering processes, Delegation of Authority requirements, the GE Vernova Code of Ethics and all applicable environmental, health and safety standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
