We are recruiting for a Senior Sales Advisor to join our thriving Jewson branch in Henley-on-Thames, RG9 1BY.

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 7:30 – 17:00, and every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00.

This is a hands-on sales role where you will build strong relationships with customers, develop existing accounts and look for new opportunities to grow sales. With the branch moving to a brand-new site in Henley, it is a great time to join the team and play a key part in growing the customer base and supporting the branch's continued success.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and develop strong relationships with new and existing customers, both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Manage existing customer accounts, identifying opportunities to grow sales and increase customer spend.
  • Serve customers from the trade counter, asking the right questions to understand their needs and provide the right solutions.
  • Make outbound calls to existing, lapsed and prospective customers to generate new business.
  • Maximise every customer interaction through upselling and cross-selling, taking every opportunity to grow sales.
  • Prepare and follow up quotes and enquiries to maximise sales conversion.
  • Develop your product knowledge and understanding of the local market to identify further sales opportunities.
  • Work closely with the wider sales team and suppliers to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Understand pricing and margin to maximise the value of every sale.
  • Support the wider branch team and contribute to the overall success of the branch.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a sales or customer-facing role.
  • Experience within building materials, merchanting or DIY would be desirable.
  • A curious and commercially minded approach, with the confidence to ask questions and identify opportunities to grow sales.
  • A proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing customer accounts.
  • Confident with outbound sales, cross-selling and following up opportunities.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail when managing quotes, enquiries and orders.
  • Customer Service - High levels of customer satisfaction with frequently returning customers and growing live accounts
  • Enthusiasm - You radiate positivity and possess an unyielding passion for the merchant world.
  • Decency - You embody honesty and integrity, contributing to a workplace built on respect and ethics
  • Team Spirit - You thrive in collaborative settings, believing that together we can achieve greatness.
