About us
Caley Timber & Building Supplies is a leading independent supplier of high-quality building materials, serving trade and self-build customers across the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. We are proud to be an employee-owned business, with depots in Inverness and Benbecula and a fleet delivering across the region every day.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a confident, dynamic and experienced Senior Sales Advisor to join our team in Inverness.
The role
This is a key customer-facing role, building and maintaining first-class relationships with new and existing customers while identifying new business opportunities. You will need strong product knowledge of timber and building materials, previous experience in a builders' merchant or similar trade sales environment, and good computer literacy.

What you'll be doing
- Preparing quotations and following them through to a successful conclusion, taking a proactive approach
- Sourcing prices for preparing quotations and ordering any non-stock items when an order is placed
- Delivering a high standard of customer service and sound product advice
- Dealing with customer enquiries by telephone, email, and face-to-face
- Working closely with colleagues across the sales team to deliver a seamless customer experience
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities among trade and self-build customers
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a builders' merchant or similar trade sales role (essential)
- Strong knowledge of timber and building materials
- A confident, proactive approach to building customer relationships
- Good computer literacy
