πΌ About the Role
As Senior Sales / Business Development Manager - UK, you will build new merchant relationships and sell acquiring services to low-risk verticals. The role is focused on outbound pipeline generation, consultative sales, and closing new business with merchants, PSPs, platforms, and e-commerce operators. You will work independently while keeping strong CRM discipline and clear reporting around pipeline, activity, and conversion.
π Responsibilities
- Build and manage a UK-focused outbound pipeline across low-risk merchant verticals
- Sell acquiring and payment processing solutions to e-commerce, fintech, PSP, and merchant services clients
- Identify merchant needs around pricing, settlement, onboarding, risk, compliance, and payment methods
- Qualify prospects, run discovery calls, prepare proposals, and manage the full sales cycle
- Develop relationships with merchants, platforms, partners, and payment ecosystem contacts
- Track activity, opportunities, next steps, and forecasts accurately in the CRM
- Collaborate with onboarding, risk, compliance, and product teams to support deal execution
- Monitor UK market trends, competitor offers, local payment methods, and merchant expectations
- Convert new business opportunities into long-term revenue for the acquiring portfolio

π Requirements
- 3+ years of B2B sales or business development experience
- Proven background in payments, acquiring, PSP, fintech, e-commerce, or merchant services
- Proven new business development experience in the UK market
- Good understanding of card acquiring, merchant onboarding, settlement, pricing, risk, and compliance basics
- Ability to generate outbound pipeline independently without heavy supervision
- Strong CRM discipline, reporting habits, and structured pipeline management
- Confident communication skills in English
- Existing network across merchants, PSPs, platforms, or payment partners
Nice to Have
- Experience selling to low-risk e-commerce verticals
- Knowledge of local UK payment methods and merchant buying behaviour
- Experience with cross-border payments or European acquiring solutions
- Track record closing mid-market or enterprise merchant deals
