Job title: Senior Sales Development Executive

Salary: c.£95,000 (Depending on Experience)
Location: Fully Remote (one day a month in Essex office)

PURPOSE OF ROLE

A leading UK insurance broker is looking to recruit a Senior Sales Development Executive to join its specialist team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious insurance professional to play a key role in driving new business growth across a specialist commercial market.

You will work within a collaborative team, developing new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships and delivering tailored insurance solutions to a diverse range of organisations across the UK.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the identification and development of new business opportunities across the UK.
  • Develop strong relationships with prospective clients and understand their individual insurance requirements.
  • Prepare compelling tender submissions and lead client presentations to demonstrate the value of the insurance solutions available.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with internal Broking, Placement and Marketing teams to develop effective solutions and ensure a high standard of service.
  • Contribute to overall growth targets and wider business development strategies.

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Prospecting and developing new business opportunities within a specialist commercial market.
  • Attending client meetings, delivering presentations and responding to tender opportunities.
  • Working closely with internal teams to develop appropriate insurance solutions.
  • Preparing proposals, reports and tender documentation to a high standard.
  • Maintaining accurate pipeline and activity records.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant market trends, risks and regulatory developments.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in business development within the insurance or wider financial services sector.
  • Experience of working within a consultative sales environment and successfully winning new business.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance market and ability to identify and develop commercial opportunities.
  • Experience managing tenders and presenting to prospective clients.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with internal teams to deliver complex client solutions.

  • ACII qualified or working towards the qualification.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Commercially focused with a proactive and self-motivated approach to new business.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across different teams.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
