The Role: Senior Sales Engineer
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
We’re seeking a technically curious and customer-driven Senior Sales Engineer based in the UK to support our sales team in delivering high-impact, technical pre-sales engagements.
You’ll collaborate closely with sales to:
- Understand prospective customer needs
- Design technical solutions
- Clearly communicate how Mappedin’s platform addresses real-world challenges
As our trusted technical advisor, you’ll support the sales process—from discovery to solution design. This position thrives on those who balance technology and business impact.
Responsibilities
- Partner with sales to engage with technical and non-technical buyers, align solutions to customer needs, and drive deals forward
- Break down complex technical concepts into digestible insights for stakeholders
- Design, prototype, and articulate solutions using Mappedin’s platform capabilities (APIs, integrations, and architecture)
- Deliver compelling technical pitches and presentations to clients and organisation teams
- Adapt solutions on-the-fly based on customer feedback and evolving requirements
- Advocate for customer issues and ensure Mappedin’s offerings remain relevant and competitive
- Support post-sale integration and onboarding assistance, where applicable

Requirements & Qualities
Essential
- 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a similar technical sales role
- Track record of fostering strong relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to distil complex technical challenges into relatable business scenarios
- Experience supporting B2B SaaS sales cycles, ideally at the enterprise or strategic partner level
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills, able to engage dynamism and precision in live discussions
- Sufficient technical depth to competently discuss APIs, integrations, and platform architecture—production code development not mandatory, but familiarity with how systems connect is required
- High adaptability, collaborativeness, and customer-centric focus
- Luxury for international project work: Willingness to travel (up to 30% corporate travel)
Preferred (but not mandatory)
- Prior exploration or selling experience in mapping, geospatial data, IoT, prop tech, or developer platforms
