About the Role
Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies.
We’re looking for a talented German-speaking Senior Sales Engineer to join our Enterprise sales team.
As an Enterprise Sales Engineer, you will work closely with our sales team to:
- Understand Enterprise customers’ complex business needs
- Showcase how Fivetran’s data replication solutions can help them achieve their desired business outcomes
- Provide technical expertise, identify technical requirements, and ensure a successful proof-of-concept (POC) throughout the sales cycle
This is a full-time remote position based out of the United Kingdom.

What You’ll Do
- Work with Enterprise customers to assess their business requirements, use cases, and data replication needs
- Develop and deliver technical presentations for Enterprise audiences
- Drive technical wins by running an organized proof-of-value (POC) process
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to drive improvements at Fivetran
- Work closely with Sales representatives while maintaining high customer focus
- Stay current on the latest technologies and trends in the industry
- Assist team members with advanced technical or business roadblocks

Skills We’re Looking For
Core Requirements
- Native or professional proficiency in German
- 5+ years of experience in data replication, sales engineering, or a related technical field
- Strong technical background covering:
- Database replication
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Data replication tools (hands-on experience required)
- Experience with modern data analytics tools, including:
- Cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery)
- Data transformation tooling (e.g., DBT, Python)
- Data catalogs & Business Intelligence (BI) tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Hands-on experience with:
- Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL databases
- Data replication/ETL tools
- Self-hosted software applications and supporting infrastructure
- Networking (cloud and on-premise)
Bonus (Preferred)
- Experience developing partner relationships
- Specialized expertise in data security/encryption
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (Docker/Podman)
- Experience with SaaS software applications
