Security Systems - Business Development Manager

Sell SSAIB-certified CCTV, intruder alarm and access control systems, designed, networked and secured by a Microsoft-accredited cyber security business.

About us

Rydal Security is the physical security division of Rydal Group, a Peterborough-based technology business, supplying UK businesses with IT, cyber security telecoms, and security systems (CCTV, Alarms). We have over 120 staff, more than 2,700 B2B clients and a growing network of channel partners. Most installers fit the cameras and walk away. We install the system, secure it on the network, then monitor and support it 24/7.

The role

This is mainly a new business role, and you’ll never be starting from a cold list. Leads come to you from several sources:

  • Referrals from our account managers, who look after more than 2,700 B2B clients and pass on security opportunities as they come up.
  • Inbound enquiries from our Google PPC and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Your own prospecting, working a large, healthy client base where Rydal already has relationships and trust.

You’ll book your own appointments from these leads, and your main job is to go out and win them. You’ll work closely with the account managers, so building good relationships with them will directly grow your pipeline.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you’ll do

  • Close new commercial security business across CCTV, intruder alarms and access control, managing each deal from first meeting to signed contract and handover.
  • Carry out pre sales site surveys and design compliant systems to SSAIB standards.
  • Structure deals as outright purchase or equipment leasing.
  • Sell the full lifecycle: installation, monitoring, maintenance and support on long-term agreements.
  • Work with account managers and partner teams to introduce security services to existing Rydal clients.
  • Keep your pipeline, activity and forecasts up to date in our CRM.
  • Hit and exceed monthly and quarterly targets.

What you’ll bring

  • At least 2 years selling commercial security systems to businesses, ideally CCTV, intruder alarms and access control.
  • Proven experience selling equipment leasing, and confidence structuring finance as part of the deal.
  • A sales approach suited to security: thorough surveys, consultative selling, and closing on value rather than price.
  • A consistent record of hitting targets, including recurring monitoring and maintenance revenue.
  • Knowledge of SSAIB or NSI standards and BS EN 50131 grading is a plus.
  • Experience with construction site managers or main contractors is useful.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills, and the drive to manage your own diary.
