Role Description The Senior Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in England, United Kingdom. This position is responsible for leading sales activities for Risen Energy’s solar and photovoltaic products, including identifying new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and driving revenue growth in the region. The Senior Sales Manager will develop and execute sales strategies, prepare proposals, lead negotiations, and maintain strong relationships with distributors, developers, and commercial/industrial customers. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring market trends, coordinating with technical and operations teams to align customer solutions, forecasting sales performance, and providing regular reports to senior leadership. The role also involves mentoring sales team members, ensuring compliance with company policies, and representing Risen Energy at industry events and customer meetings.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Sales Manager – BESS & PV to strengthen our commercial presence in the United Kingdom.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing strategic customer relationships, building a strong project pipeline and driving the growth of our Battery Energy Storage Systems and Solar PV solutions across the UK market.

This is a remote position based in the United Kingdom, with regular travel to customers, project sites, industry events and business meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy for BESS and PV solutions in the United Kingdom, in line with the company’s European growth objectives.
  • Identify, develop and manage business opportunities across the energy storage and solar value chain, including developers, EPC companies, utilities, IPPs, investors, distributors, integrators, asset owners and industrial & commercial customers.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, decision-makers and strategic partners.
  • Take ownership of the complete sales cycle, from initial customer engagement and opportunity qualification through technical-commercial discussions, proposal preparation, negotiation and contract closure.
  • Develop and maintain a strong and qualified sales pipeline, with clear short-, medium- and long-term opportunities.
  • Actively identify upcoming BESS and PV projects, tenders, framework opportunities and investment projects within the UK market.
  • Work closely with internal technical, product, project management, supply chain and finance teams to prepare competitive and technically compliant customer proposals.
  • Coordinate technical-commercial discussions related to battery storage applications, including C&I and utility-scale BESS, as well as solar PV module opportunities.
  • Support customers during the early project development phase by understanding project requirements, system configuration, commercial expectations, delivery schedules and technical constraints.
  • Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, warranties, delivery conditions, contractual requirements and other key commercial topics.
  • Monitor market developments, competitors, pricing trends, regulatory developments and customer requirements within the UK renewable energy and energy storage sectors.
  • Provide regular and accurate sales forecasts, opportunity updates and market intelligence to regional management.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, conferences, exhibitions and relevant renewable energy industry events.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic partnerships, long-term customer relationships and framework agreements with key market players.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of customer activities, opportunities, meetings and project developments through the company’s CRM and internal reporting processes.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Energy, Economics or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of B2B sales or business development experience within the renewable energy, power, electrical or energy infrastructure sector.
  • Proven commercial experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Solar PV or related energy technologies is strongly preferred.
  • Existing network within the UK renewable energy market, particularly among developers, EPCs, utilities, IPPs, asset owners, C&I customers, investors or energy solution providers, would be a significant advantage.
  • Good understanding of the commercial and technical fundamentals of renewable energy projects.
  • Experience managing complex B2B sales processes and negotiating high-value projects and contracts.
  • Strong ability to independently develop a market, generate new opportunities and convert leads into concrete projects.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
  • Comfortable working within an international and multicultural organization and coordinating with European and global teams.
  • Ability to manage several projects and commercial opportunities simultaneously while maintaining clear priorities.
  • Fluent English is required. Additional European languages are considered an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the United Kingdom and occasionally across Europe.

What We Are Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates who combine strong commercial capabilities with a solid understanding of the renewable energy market.

The ideal candidate is not only an experienced salesperson, but someone capable of developing the market, opening strategic accounts, understanding customer projects and building long-term partnerships.

Experience selling BESS, PV modules, PCS/inverters, energy management solutions or other utility-scale and C&I energy technologies will be highly valued.

We are particularly interested in candidates with an established network across the UK energy storage and solar ecosystem and with a proven ability to transform relationships and opportunities into concrete commercial results.
