Senior Sales Manager
We’re supporting a global payments business through a significant expansion of its London commercial team and are looking for an accomplished Senior Sales Manager with a strong track record of winning complex B2B business.
This isn't an account-management position. It's a senior individual-contributor hunting role focused on opening new opportunities, winning major customers and leading some of the team's largest and most complex deals.
The Opportunity
You’ll take ownership of a senior individual revenue target and manage opportunities from the very first conversation through commercial negotiation, compliance, onboarding and early trading.
You'll sell a suite of solutions spanning international payments, multi-currency accounts, foreign exchange, expense management and cards, working with SME and corporate customers.
Alongside your own number, you'll play a broader role in shaping how your vertical goes to market and helping raise the standard across the sales team.
What you’ll be doing
- Generate new-business revenue and carry one of the team's larger individual targets.
- Build a high-quality pipeline through proactive outbound prospecting, networking and events.
- Lead larger and more complex opportunities, including multi-product deals and senior buying groups.
- Own the complete sales cycle from prospecting through compliance and onboarding.
- Present, influence and negotiate with C-level stakeholders.
- Understand customers’ businesses, flow of funds and regulatory environments to determine commercial fit.
- Manage newly won customers through their early trading period before transitioning them to Account Management.
- Work with commercial leadership to identify attractive sub-segments, use cases and sales plays.
- Support and mentor Sales Managers, sharing successful approaches and helping improve conversion.
- Maintain strong forecasting, pipeline management and CRM discipline.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
