Across government, digital services are transforming how organisations deliver for citizens. At Ofgem, we're using technology to help drive the transition to a Net Zero energy system, protect consumers, and support one of the most significant societal and economic challenges of our time.
We're looking for a Senior Salesforce Architect to play a key role in shaping and assuring the Salesforce architecture that underpins our digital services. This is an exciting opportunity to join Ofgem's Digital, Data and Security Services (DDSS) directorate and help design secure, scalable and user-centred solutions that support critical regulatory and operational services. You'll work across a complex technology landscape spanning Salesforce Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Public Sector Solutions and the wider Salesforce Platform, ensuring solutions align to both business needs and strategic architectural principles.
As a senior member of our architecture community, you'll provide technical leadership, guide delivery teams, influence architectural decisions, and help define the standards and patterns that enable successful delivery across multiple programmes.
What you'll do
As a Senior Salesforce Architect, you will:
- Lead the design and documentation of Salesforce solutions across multiple programmes and delivery teams.
- Provide technical assurance to ensure solutions meet architectural, security and operational standards.
- Design scalable and secure integrations between Salesforce and enterprise platforms using modern integration patterns and APIs.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Delivery Managers, Developers and Technical Leads to guide technical decision-making and resolve complex design challenges.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies and opportunities, ensuring informed decision-making across projects.
- Support the development and maturity of Ofgem's Salesforce Centre of Excellence, promoting best practice, reusable design patterns and architectural consistency.
- Mentor and support engineers and architects, helping to build capability across the organisation.
- Contribute to architecture governance, standards development and continuous improvement initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
