Salesforce Technical Architect

West London, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Salesforce Technical Architect, Comms Cloud & Vlocity (West London)

Key Points

  • Full time, hybrid, 2 to 3 days a week in the West London office
  • Hands on architecture on a brand new Salesforce platform build, not oversight of someone else's delivery
  • Deep Comms Cloud and Vlocity, CPQ, EPC, OM and CLM, in a communications environment
  • Technical leadership role, you will set the standard for a team of Salesforce developers and architects
  • Salary up to £130,000, sponsorship considered

About the Client

A global telecommunications and media business, hiring into their UK technology team. Household name, millions of customers across TV, broadband, mobile and connectivity products.

They are standing up a new Salesforce platform and this role comes in at the onset, so there is genuine scope to shape architecture, standards and direction rather than inherit them. Large estate, serious engineering culture, and a Salesforce community that already spans multiple product domains.

The Role, Salesforce Technical Architect

Hands on senior role owning technical design and delivery across the Salesforce ecosystem, spanning Sales, Service, Communications, Experience and Marketing Clouds.

The core challenge is Comms Cloud at telco scale. Product catalogue, quoting, contract lifecycle and order management all have to work together across a complex product set, and they have to perform. You will lead the technical analysis and design, lean on out of the box capability first, and customise only where it earns its place.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will also be the person the developer community looks to for direction, setting engineering standards as the platform and the team grow.

What They Mean By Architect

Worth being direct about this because it shapes who they want to speak to. They want someone still close to the build. Not someone who chairs governance forums and reviews a partner's design documents, but someone who can design the solution, get into the org, and show a team how it should be done. The stakeholder side is equally real. You will be presenting and defending technical direction to directors and business leaders, so this is not a role for someone who only speaks engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with product owners and solutions architecture to deliver tailored solutions across the Salesforce ecosystem
  • Perform technical analysis, design and implementation of changes to the platform, following best practice
  • Design and build across Comms Cloud and Vlocity, covering CPQ, EPC, OM and CLM, in iterative release cycles
  • Lead, mentor and train a team of Salesforce developers and architects
  • Drive best practice across Communities of Practice, covering platform security, code quality, version control and CI/CD
  • Support and grow a community of Salesforce technical designers across a wide range of initiatives
  • Contribute to improvement of DevOps processes, ways of working and tooling

Essential Experience

  • Deep, hands on experience of the Salesforce Digital Commerce platform including Comms Cloud, Vlocity, CPQ, EPC, OM and CLM, ideally in a communications environment
  • Design and build across OmniScripts, DataRaptors, Omnistudio Cards, Product Designer and Pricing Designer
  • Digital Commerce and cart based APIs, Lightning Web Components, Apex, Triggers, SOQL and SOSL, Flows, Integration Procedures and Orchestration Plans
  • Event driven integration with external systems using SOAP, REST, BULK, Platform Events and Streaming APIs
  • Salesforce core and Comms Cloud performance considerations, and how to design around degradation
  • Building complex, scalable, high performance systems with sound object modelling and design patterns
  • Communication skills strong enough to hold a room of directors and business stakeholders

  • Hybrid, 2 to 3 days a week in the West London office
  • A new platform build with real influence over architecture, standards and direction
