Job Title: Senior Sanctions Analyst
Location: London (Hybrid)
Contract Length: 6 Months (Potential extension)
Working Pattern: Full Time
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Sanctions Analyst to join their team. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with sanctions regulations and will involve a variety of responsibilities related to sanctions screening, system development, and team performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage or undertake proactive roles in ongoing projects including system development and testing.
- Actively participate in updates to the Business Contingency Plan and User Testing processes.
- Conduct sanctions screening for live transactions across the EMEA region.
- Ensure the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new functionality is completed and documented accurately and in a timely manner as part of implementation plans.
- Ensure the daily workload is completed promptly in accordance with Bank Policies and Procedures.
- Review system-generated Sanction Hits using the Bank's sanctions philtre, Fircosoft.
- Complete the initial review and clearance of sanction alerts within the systems.
- Liaise and develop relationships with internal stakeholders to facilitate effective communication.
- Review and update desktop procedure manuals to reflect changes in operational processes and working practices.
- Analyse Quality Review findings and ensure timely resolution of any issues, providing feedback to the team and identifying common themes for additional training.
- Proactively contribute to team performance improvements by identifying weaknesses in workflows and processes and taking appropriate actions.
- Provide support and cover around European working hours and on London Bank Holidays as necessary.
- Display a commitment to accuracy, ensuring that work is completed correctly the first time.
- Demonstrate risk awareness by understanding associated risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Exhibit flexibility to manage changing priorities effectively.
- Collaborate within a team environment, actively listening and considering others' views and inputs.
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, engaging constructively with colleagues.

Required Skills And Qualifications
- Proven experience in sanctions screening and compliance within a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of system development and testing methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on teamwork.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of work.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to personal development and skill enhancement.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to quality outcomes.
