Talentmark are recruiting for a Senior R&D Scientist to join a company in the medical devices industry on a contract basis for 12 months. This role is fully site-based in Motherwell.
Senior R&D Scientist Role:
- Execute complex, high-quality experimental workstreams from concept through to final recommendation and design transfer.
- Analyse and interpret complex data from multi-factorial experiments.
- Present project updates and technical findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) philosophy to optimise product formulations and characterisation processes.
- Champion laboratory excellence by creating a working environment that proactively supports compliance, including GLP, GMP, and GDP standards.

Your Background:
- Hold a Master's degree in a life science subject. A BSc will be considered if coupled with industry experience.
- Proven knowledge of diagnostic immunoassay technology and the ability to follow or improve complex experimental protocols.
- Strong computer literacy and data analysis skills, with a track record of delivering accurate results on time.
- Excellent communication skills, specifically in writing technical documentation and laboratory records.
- Experience with particle-based immunoassays, fluorescent detection, whole-blood assays, and working within GMP/GLP/GDP or biohazard environments is preferred.
