Research Scientist/Senior Scientist - Immune Reset Team
Our client, a leading global biopharmaceutical organisation, is seeking a Research Scientist/Senior Scientist to join its Immune Reset team.
This is a hands-on role focused on developing and executing translational and functional in vitro/ex vivo assays using primary human immune cells and patient-derived samples. You will generate data supporting target validation, molecule selection and translational development programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimise and execute functional immune-cell assays for screening, target validation and mechanism-of-action studies.
- Develop translational assays using primary human immune cells and patient samples.
- Analyse data, troubleshoot experiments and communicate clear scientific conclusions.
- Present findings to multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate across biology, translational science and data science.
- Work to high standards of laboratory safety, compliance and sample governance.

Essential Experience
- BSc/MSc/PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of human immunology and autoimmune disease biology.
- Hands-on experience with functional immune-cell assays, such as proliferation, activation, cytotoxicity, differentiation, MLR or antigen-recall assays.
- Experience with Fc-mediated mechanisms such as ADCC, ADCP and/or CDC.
- Experience isolating and culturing primary human immune-cell subsets using FACS and/or magnetic separation.
- Strong multi-parameter flow cytometry expertise, including panel design, controls, compensation/spectral unmixing and data analysis.
- Experience with platforms such as ELISA, MSD, Luminex or ELISpot.
- Proficiency with FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, Excel and/or R.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.

Desirable
- Patient-derived autoimmune/inflammatory disease samples.
- B-cell, T-cell, plasma-cell or myeloid biology.
- Biologics or other therapeutic modalities.
- Spectral flow, single-cell, imaging, transcriptomics or proteomics.
