ApconiX Is Recruiting an Immunotoxicologist (Senior Scientist)

ApconiX are experts in target and modality safety science, cardiac and CNS and electrophysiology, and all aspects of nonclinical toxicology and DMPK project support.

The Challenge:

Immune safety issues are one of the major reasons drugs fail and have been the cause of some of the most infamous drug failures. The prediction, mitigation and management of immunotoxicological issues is therefore an important challenge in modern pharmaceutical product development. Understanding intended and unintended immunological effects of drugs lays is therefore important to enable the design of fit for purpose preclinical programs, and to inform decision-making during drug development. Ultimately, the development and application of immunological expertise is needed to deliver better outcomes for patients.

The Role:

This role will sit within Safety Science Group and is ideal for a candidate with a pharmacology/toxicology/immunology background and a specific interest within immunotoxicology. The role will be primarily located in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, UK but allows for remote/flexible working. We are flexible on start dates for the role.

  • Take primary authorship and responsibility for our flagship integrated safety assessment products.
  • Work with multidisciplinary members of safety science team to deliver target and modality specific written consultancy services to our global client base
  • Translate in vivo, in vitro and in silico datasets into meaningful toxicological information and guidance on novel drug targets.
  • Collaborate with our in house immunotoxicology team to advance research and capability development for key mechanisms of immunotoxicity in discovery safety science.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or MSc + several years’ experience in life science e.g., immunology/pharmacology/toxicology
  • Fluent English with excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the drug discovery process
  • The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK
  • Evidence of substantial written scientific communications
