At Bristol Myers Squibb, our employees often ask, “Who are you working for?”—a question that fuels collaboration, accountability, and urgency in our work. Our purpose-driven culture inspires us to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines to prevail over serious diseases. We offer uniquely interesting and meaningful work, opportunities for growth, and a supportive environment that values inclusion, wellbeing, flexibility, and comprehensive benefits. This is work that transforms the lives of patients, and the careers of those who do it.

The medicine is approved. Your work is just beginning. Most people think the hard part of drug development is getting a medicine to market. And they're not wrong - it's enormously complex. But here's something that doesn't get talked about enough: keeping that medicine on the market, in the hands of patients who depend on it every day, is just as critical.

That's exactly what the Market Life Stability team at Bristol Myers Squibb does. And right now, we're looking for a Senior Scientist to help lead it.

This is a role for someone who takes quiet but genuine pride in doing things properly because in this space, doing things properly is what ensures patients continue to receive medicines that are safe, effective, and exactly what they're supposed to be.

What you'll actually be doing

You'll be a senior technical voice within our Market Life Stability (MLS) team at our Moreton, UK site, providing scientific oversight and compliance leadership across commercial stability programmes for products that are already in patients' hands.

In practice, that means:

  • Reviewing and approving analytical data - applying your scientific judgement to ensure results are sound, compliant, and documented to the standard our patients and regulators rightly expect
  • Leading laboratory investigations - when something doesn't look right, you'll be the person who figures out why, defines the corrective action, and makes sure it doesn't happen again
  • Supporting analytical technology transfers - guiding the technical readiness, troubleshooting the unexpected, and following through until the transfer is truly complete
  • Owning and maintaining controlled documentation - SOPs, work instructions, job aids - keeping them accurate, compliant, and genuinely useful for the people who rely on them
  • Driving continuous improvement - identifying where we can work smarter, more efficiently, or more compliantly, and then actually leading the change
  • Mentoring and guiding your colleagues - scientists, contractors, apprentices - sharing what you know and raising the capability of the team around you
  • Representing MLS in cross-functional forums - because your technical expertise matters beyond the lab walls, and your perspective shapes how the wider organisation makes decisions

What's in it for you? Let's be specific.

  • Genuine senior ownership - not just a title

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is a role with real accountability. You'll review and approve data, lead investigations, and represent your team externally. If you've been waiting for the step up from executing someone else's decisions to being the person whose judgement others rely on - this is that step.

  • Technical depth across the full stability lifecycle

Commercial stability is rich, technically demanding territory. You'll work across analytical testing, method transfers, quality systems, deviation management and regulatory inspection readiness - all within a GMP environment where the standards are high and the details really matter. Your skills won't narrow here; they'll deepen.

  • Regulatory experience that opens doors

Audit and inspection readiness is a core part of this role - not a once-a-year scramble, but an embedded part of how the team operates. Building fluency in regulatory expectations, data integrity, and GMP documentation at this level is a genuine career asset that travels with you wherever you go next.

  • The tools to do the job properly

You'll work with industry-standard systems - Biovia Workbook, Biovia LES, Empower, LIMS - in a well-established analytical operation. If you're already proficient in these, you'll hit the ground running. If there are gaps, you'll have the environment and support to grow into them.

  • The chance to actually lead people, not just tasks

Mentoring scientists, supporting apprentices, influencing cross-functional teams - this role gives you a real opportunity to invest in the people around you and see the results. For those who care about building teams as much as solving problems, that matters.

  • Work that connects to real patients

Commercial stability isn't abstract. The products you support are on pharmacy shelves and in patients' homes right now. When you uphold quality here, you're upholding a promise to real people. That's the kind of context that makes the detail-oriented, compliance-focused work genuinely meaningful.

Is this you?

You'll have a degree in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, analytical sciences or a related discipline - alongside significant experience in a GMP analytical laboratory or pharmaceutical quality environment.

You understand pharmaceutical analysis and stability testing from the inside out. You've led investigations, navigated quality systems, and worked with the kind of documentation standards that mean what you write could one day be read by a regulator.

You communicate clearly - with scientists and with stakeholders who aren't. You influence without needing authority. You hold yourself to a high standard and bring others with you.

Experience with analytical method transfers is a bonus. A genuine commitment to data integrity, patient safety, and getting things right - non-negotiable.
