Talentmark are recruiting for a Senior Scientist to join a company in the pharmaceutical industry on a contract basis for 12 months. This role is Site-based in Kent.

Salary

  • Up to £20.66 per hour (PAYE)
  • £23.15 per hour (Umbrella)

  • Develop and apply PBBM/PBPK models using Simcyp, GastroPlus, or similar software.
  • Predict oral absorption, food effect, bioavailability, and virtual bioequivalence.
  • Run model calibration, sensitivity analysis, and uncertainty assessments.
  • Work with lab scientists to design and interpret in vitro studies.
  • Support development of clinically relevant dissolution methods.
  • Present modelling outcomes in reports, presentations, and regulatory documents.

Your Background

  • PhD or MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biopharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics, or related field.
  • Expertise in PBPK, PBBM, pharmacometrics, or model-informed drug development.
  • Strong grasp of oral absorption, dissolution, permeability, and pharmacokinetics.
  • Hands-on experience with Simcyp, GastroPlus, PK-Sim, or similar platforms.
  • Strong scientific communication skills, with evidence of publications/presentations and regulatory submission experience.
  • Desirable: knowledge of Python/R/MATLAB, machine learning/data science experience, and exposure to multiple drug modalities (poorly soluble compounds, peptides, complex dosage forms).
