Summary

Ride Therapeutics are seeking an interdisciplinary scientist or senior scientist to contribute to our microfluidic screening team. The successful candidate will work closely with other team members to carry out and improve microfluidic experiments combining chemistry, nanoparticle formulation, and molecular biology techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and optimise microfluidic setups for running display experiments
  • Carry out and optimise PCR and other molecular biology reactions
  • Prepare samples for next-generation sequencing
  • Carry out biological assays using droplet microfluidics
  • Maintaining accurate and current records of experimental work
  • Improve efficiency and yield of molecular biology reactions
  • Performing routine laboratory procedures, regular quality control and set up of equipment
  • Write or contribute to publications, including making presentations at conferences or exhibiting work at academic or industry conferences
  • Communicate complex ideas and concepts to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Undergraduate and PhD degrees in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related discipline, and/or relevant industry experience
  • Experience in the following techniques: PCR, NGS, protein production, DNA encoded libraries, microfluidics, nanoparticle development
  • Evidence of high proficiency in experimental design, execution, troubleshooting, data analysis, and communication of results
  • Evidence of ability to quickly learn new techniques and work in small teams
  • Evidence of ability to lead, organise and participate in collaborative research projects
  • 3+ years of prior relevant experience working in industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Evidence of ability to present research findings to a scholarly audience
  • Desire to be part of a highly collaborative, dynamic, and agile team
