Senior Scrub Nurse / Theatre Practitioner
Location: Maidstone
Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week – Days only
Working Pattern: No nights or Sunday working
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Scrub Nurse / Theatre Practitioner to join a well-established, high-performing surgical team in Maidstone. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled theatre professional looking for a better work-life balance, with a structured days-only rota and no weekend night commitments.
You will play a key role within the operating theatre, supporting a wide range of surgical procedures, with a particular focus on orthopaedic and general surgery. As a senior team member, you will also contribute to maintaining high clinical standards, supporting junior staff, and ensuring efficient theatre operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality perioperative care as part of the theatre team
- Scrub for a variety of procedures, particularly orthopaedic and general surgeries
- Support the Theatre Manager in the day-to-day running of the department
- Mentor and support junior staff and students
- Ensure adherence to clinical governance, infection control, and health & safety protocols
- Work collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists, and wider MDT
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP)
- Current NMC or HCPC registration
- Significant scrub experience within orthopaedic and/or general surgery
- Previous experience in a senior or leadership capacity is desirable
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety
