Senior Sales Development Representative (SDR)
Sustainability Sector | Structured Pathway to Business Development Manager
£37,000-£38,000 Basic + Bonus
Monday to Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm | Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

We're recruiting for a rapidly growing organisation at the forefront of sustainable workplace and waste management solutions. With clients spanning facilities management, retail, education, corporate, hospitality and industrial sectors, the business partners with organisations to improve environmental performance while delivering operational efficiencies and cost savings.
This is not a standard SDR role.
The business has developed a clear and structured two-year progression plan designed to bridge the gap between Sales Development and Business Development. Rather than being expected to make an immediate jump into a closing role, you'll have the opportunity to build the commercial, consultative and strategic skills needed to become a successful Business Development Manager.
The Opportunity

- You'll work closely with experienced Business Development Managers, shadowing customer meetings, site surveys, trials and solution presentations while developing advanced discovery, qualification and opportunity management skills.
- The goal is simple: to prepare you for a successful transition into a Business Development Manager role with the confidence, knowledge and experience required to thrive.
What You'll Be Doing
- Generating high-quality appointments through outbound calling, email campaigns and LinkedIn outreach.
- Engaging with senior decision-makers across a variety of sectors.
- Conducting meaningful discovery conversations to understand business challenges, sustainability goals and operational requirements.
- Identifying and qualifying opportunities before handover to the Business Development team.
- Managing a small pipeline of early-stage opportunities.
- Supporting opportunity progression through effective follow-up and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintaining accurate CRM records and activity tracking.
- Attending customer meetings alongside Business Development Managers to develop commercial knowledge and sales expertise.
- Sharing best practice and supporting the development of newer team members.
- Contributing to a high-performance sales culture focused on growth and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For
- Previous success within an SDR, Lead Generation, Appointment Setting or Business Development support role.
- A proven track record of achieving activity and appointment-generation targets.
- Strong communication and questioning skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills and CRM discipline.
- A proactive, resilient and coachable approach.
- Ambition to progress into a Business Development Manager position.
- A genuine interest in building a long-term sales career within a growing sustainability-focused business.
