Principal Security Architect & Engineering Lead
£100,000 – £110,000 + 15% Bonus
London or Milton Keynes | Hybrid – 2 days per week

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal Security Architect to play a key role in shaping the future of Security Architecture & Engineering within an organisation undergoing significant business and technology transformation.
With a new five-year strategy underway, the organisation is investing heavily across cloud, digital platforms, AI and modern technology, alongside the implementation of a newly approved Cyber Security strategy.
Working closely with the CISO, you’ll act as a key link between Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture and Engineering, helping define the security roadmap and ensuring security is embedded into technology change from the outset.
This isn’t a role focused on maintaining an established security function. You’ll have genuine scope to build, influence and shape how Security Architecture & Engineering operates as the organisation continues to transform.

What you'll be doing
- Define and evolve Enterprise Security Architecture, principles, standards and roadmaps.
- Partner closely with the CISO, Enterprise Architects and Engineering teams.
- Embed Secure by Design across major technology and digital transformation programmes.
- Provide security leadership across cloud, applications, infrastructure, identity and emerging technologies.
- Represent Security within architecture governance and Technical Design Authority forums.
- Help drive DevSecOps and security engineering practices across technology delivery.
- Translate business requirements and cyber risk into pragmatic, scalable security solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring as the Security Engineering capability grows.
- Influence senior stakeholders and help shape long-term security investment and strategy.

What we're looking for
You’ll be an experienced Security Architect / Enterprise Security Architect with the technical credibility to work closely with Engineers while operating strategically with senior stakeholders.
Ideally, you'll bring experience across:
- Enterprise Security Architecture
- Secure by Design
- Cloud Security (Azure/AWS)
- Security Engineering
- DevSecOps
- IAM
- Application Security
- Architecture Governance
- Security Strategy & Roadmaps
- Technical Design Authority
Experience within Financial Services, FinTech, InsurTech, WealthTech or another highly regulated, technology-led environment would be particularly beneficial.
This would suit someone who enjoys building and improving security capabilities, rather than simply inheriting a mature environment, and wants the opportunity to have genuine influence over the future direction of Security Architecture & Engineering.
