Physical Security Consultant

Location: Remote
Sectors: Data Centres, Commercial Offices & Retail
Regions: UK, EMEA, US

Surge is looking for an experienced Physical Security Consultant to support consultancy and design projects across data centre, office and retail environments. This role suits someone with a strong background in physical security design who can manage multiple projects, engage confidently with stakeholders and build lasting client relationships.

The Role

Provide consultancy and technical guidance on physical security systems, including CCTV, access control, intruder detection and perimeter protection.

  • Develop and review security designs, specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
  • Assess client requirements, security risks and site vulnerabilities to recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects, balancing deadlines, priorities and deliverables.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining clear communication throughout each project.
  • Present designs, technical recommendations and progress updates to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, project managers and wider design teams to integrate security requirements into project designs.
  • Support tender reviews, contractor submissions and the assessment of proposed security solutions.

  • Previous experience in physical security consultancy or a related security design role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of CCTV, access control, intruder detection and integrated security systems.
  • Relevant project experience within data centres, commercial offices and/or retail environments.
  • Previous experience producing security designs and technical specifications.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and client relationship management skills.
  • An understanding of relevant security standards and industry best practice.
  • A proactive, organised approach and the ability to work independently in a remote role.
