🔐 Senior Security Engineer | London | Hybrid £85,000 +
I’m working with a well-known consumer organisation that is going through a significant technology transformation and investing heavily across Cloud, Infrastructure, Identity and Cyber Security.
As part of this journey, they’re building out their Security Engineering capability and are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to take genuine ownership and help shape how security develops across the organisation.
This isn’t a role where you’ll simply inherit a mature environment and keep the lights on. You’ll have the opportunity to influence the security roadmap, technical architecture and future direction, while remaining genuinely hands-on with the engineering and implementation.
What will you be working on?
The environment is predominantly Microsoft-focused, with priorities across:
- Microsoft Sentinel – monitoring, detections, tuning and improving SIEM maturity
- Microsoft Defender / Defender for Cloud
- Azure & Cloud Security
- Entra ID & Identity Security
- Threat detection and security monitoring
- Incident response and investigation
- Endpoint and infrastructure security
- Security architecture and technical design
- Security governance, audit and compliance
- Zero Trust and improving the wider security posture

You’ll work closely with senior engineers across IAM, Infrastructure, Networking and Automation/DevSecOps, making sure security is embedded into the wider technology transformation.
What are they looking for?
The key is someone who can combine architecture-level thinking with genuine hands-on engineering.
You’ll be comfortable looking at a security problem, designing the right approach and explaining your recommendations – but equally willing and able to get into the technology and take ownership through implementation.
We’re particularly interested in someone who:
- Has strong hands-on Security Engineering experience
- Has experience across Microsoft security and cloud technologies
- Understands the fundamentals behind the technology, not just the tooling
- Can consider multiple technical approaches and explain the reasoning behind their decisions
- Can communicate complex security risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Enjoys taking ownership and working within a changing environment
