Senior Security Engineer (Offensive Security)

Our client, a leading quant trading firm ($80bn AUM), is building an in-house AI-driven cyber capability from the ground up. As the lead Offensive Security Engineer, you'll have direct access to serious compute and tooling and will work with decision-makers tasked with driving AI adoption across the trading and technology businesses.

What you'll actually be doing:

  • Own and lead offensive engagements: red teaming, penetration testing, adversary emulation, purple team exercises
  • Design and build AI-based offensive and defensive tooling — automating recon, exploitation, detection and response
  • Lead research into AI/LLM-specific attack techniques: prompt injection, model abuse, agentic exploitation
  • Set the technical direction for the team's tooling, frameworks, and automation capability
  • Lead threat modelling and security architecture reviews, translating outcomes into engineering roadmaps
  • Own AI threat modelling, model risk assessment, and secure AI lifecycle practices from a position of established expertise

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Expert programming skills and a clear understanding of one or more languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Go etc.)
  • Deep expertise in attack frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, kill chain)
  • Comfortable operating with minimal oversight, setting direction rather than following it
  • Track record of successful delivery achieved within complex technology environments with large attack surfaces such as financial trading firms, fintech, or a recognised offensive security consultancy
