Team - Information Security
Working Pattern - Hybrid - 2 days per week in the Vitality Bournemouth Office. Full time, 35 hours per week.

What this role is all about:
We're looking for a Senior Security Operations Engineer to play a leading role in Vitality's cyber defence function. Working within Information Security, you'll enhance security operations, respond to incidents, and help ensure our systems, services and member data remain protected.
Key Actions
- You will manage and support core Security Operations tools and platforms, ensuring they remain effective, secure and aligned to business requirements
- You will act as the technical subject matter expert for security technologies, providing specialist support and driving improvements to security capabilities
- You'll Monitor security alerts, events and incidents, leading investigations and coordinating timely and effective responses
- Support the delivery of security projects and initiatives, helping to strengthen the organisation's overall security posture
- This role will work closely with Information Security, IT and Architecture teams to implement and maintain robust security controls
- Manage vulnerability remediation activities, ensuring security risks are identified, prioritised and addressed appropriately
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors and technology partners to support effective security operations
- You'll develop and maintain security documentation, operational procedures and incident response playbooks
- Support penetration testing activities and coordinate the remediation of identified findings
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of monitoring, detection and response processes across the Security Operations function
- You will keep up to speed with emerging threats, vulnerabilities and industry developments to support continuous improvement and risk reduction

What do you need to thrive?
- Proven experience supporting and managing enterprise security technologies and operational security controls
- Strong knowledge of Security Operations, incident response, threat detection and vulnerability management principles
- Experience working with security tooling such as Microsoft Defender, MDR platforms and monitoring solutions
- Ability to investigate complex security incidents and implement effective and timely remediation activities
- Strong understanding of Information Security frameworks, regulatory requirements and security best practices
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Passion for continuous improvement and keeping up to date with emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities and industry developments
