Senior Security Researcher - AI & Cybersecurity
A fantastic opportunity for a Senior Security Researcher to join an innovative technology company working on a new project at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity. You will research emerging security threats affecting modern AI systems, investigate attacker techniques and work alongside highly skilled technical teams to help develop new security capabilities.
Location: Cambridge, hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum + excellent benefits
Requirements for Senior Security Researcher - AI & Cybersecurity:
- Strong academic background, ideally including a Master's or PhD in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning or a closely related subject
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity and attacker techniques
- Good understanding of networking and network security
- Knowledge of generative AI and the emerging security threats affecting AI systems
- Experience researching or investigating security threats across areas such as networks, endpoints, cloud environments or containerised systems
- Good Linux knowledge and familiarity with security tools
- Cybersecurity, networking or Linux certifications, such as CCNA or Linux Essentials, would be beneficial
- Experience within a SOC or security operations environment would also be beneficial
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Applicants from relevant academic research backgrounds are also encouraged to apply where they have strong practical cybersecurity knowledge

Responsibilities for Senior Security Researcher - AI & Cybersecurity:
- Research emerging cybersecurity threats affecting AI technologies
- Investigate attacker techniques and potential vulnerabilities
- Conduct technical research and prototype new security ideas
- Work closely with engineering and AI specialists to translate research into practical security capabilities
- Analyse technical findings and provide clear recommendations
- Keep up to date with developments across cybersecurity and AI security
