Your impact
Mollie is looking for a versatile Senior Security Risk Officer to support our growth. Reporting to the Risk Lead, you'll take ownership of a broad spectrum of risk areas, including IT and security, with clear expectations to support product development and AI enablement. This is a role for someone who can move between regulation, technology, and business priorities, and bring them together into practical, workable guidance for the teams building Mollie's products.
What you'll be doing:
- Partner with colleagues to build new or updated products, manage and deploy IT assets and implement risk and security controls while ensuring adherence to relevant regulations (DORA, PSD2, GDPR, AI Act, CRA, NIS2, etc.). Drive efficiencies and adherence to relevant governance and champion them across the organisation,
- Together with the senior stakeholders of Risk and Compliance set out second line risk priorities and initiatives,
- Foster a strong risk culture across the entire organisation; support a growing organisation in all relevant areas,
- Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes in internal/external audits and certifications (PCI-DSS, SOC2, etc.),
- Translate complex regulations into actionable guidance, championing a risk culture that balances commercial success with compliance.

What you’ll bring:
- Experience - 7-10 years of relevant experience
- Technical comfort - at ease with different technology platforms and can dive into technical documentation and system architectures. Working understanding of engineering, security technologies, culture, tools and best practices.
- Communication skills - excellent written and verbal abilities to explain risk decisions to both technical and business stakeholders;
- Can do attitude and creative problem solver - the second line needs to be creative in finding solutions to maintaining security in a growing organization
- Customer focus - always consider customer impact when making security and risk decisions;
- Inquisitive approach - ready to experiment, always looking for better ways to solve problems. Curiosity towards new technologies (AI included) is highly appreciated.
Strong preference for:
- Payments/fintech experience - understanding of financial or payments-related technical solutions.
- Certified CISSP or CISM, and/or cloud certification (GCP), network or other relevant security and technical certification
- Advanced University Degree in Information Technology, or another relevant technological study
