What You Need to Know
We are looking for an experienced Senior SEM Assembly Technician to join our Manufacturing team at our Subsea Centre of Excellence in Great Yarmouth.
This is a hands-on technical role for someone who is confident working with electronic assemblies, PCB testing and fault diagnosis, and who takes pride in delivering high-quality work. You’ll play an important role in the assembly, testing and rectification of subsea electronics modules, while also providing technical support and guidance to colleagues.

What We Are Looking For
- Test, diagnose and rectify electronic components, modules and systems.
- Read and interpret electronic/electrical schematics and PCB layout drawings.
- Assemble and operate test equipment and identify faults, taking appropriate remedial action.
- Support the creation of technical drawings and maintain records of electronic assemblies and components.
- Act as a senior member of the production team, working closely with other functions where required.
- Train and support other members of the team, sharing your technical knowledge and experience.
- Promote excellent standards of quality, housekeeping, safety and personal discipline.
- Assemble Subsea Electronics Modules to a high standard.
Qualifications / Skills & Experience
- Proven experience within an electronic equipment design and manufacturing environment.
- Strong PCB testing, fault-finding and rectification skills.
- Excellent soldering skills, with knowledge of IPC-A-610.
- Ability to read and understand PCB layouts and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of electrostatic handling precautions and electronic component handling.
- Understanding of in-circuit programming tools.
- Knowledge of PCB layout design and technical drawing creation.
- Good PC skills.
- Knowledge of current IEE regulations.
- Ideally, a recognised apprenticeship and/or BTEC National Certificate (or equivalent) in an electronic systems discipline.
