Job Summary

Reporting directly to the (UK/ US) Procurement Manager, the Senior In Series Commodity Manager will play a key role in leading the procurement and supply chain activities across the business to ensure the successful delivery of Singers overall operational and commercial objectives. Working in a cross functional environment, the role is responsible for the creation and management of a stable, efficient and cost effective supply chain. By developing and maintaining strong internal and external relationships, the goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient material flow to support our operations in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the commercial risk, sourcing activities and supply contracts activities required to support business operations and customer requirements
  • Ensure all order requests and order placements with suppliers are processed on time to support the successful delivery of product launches and the business operational plan
  • Management of high risk and / or strategic ‘on site’ procurement projects to meet or exceed internal and external customer requirements
  • Working alongside but taking direction from the Global Commodity Management team, collaborate with cross functional teams to assess and nominate suppliers based on current and future business requirements
  • Activate, monitor and manage supplier adherence to Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s) from point of introduction to vehicle fit
  • Negotiate competitive parts and tooling costs using Total Delivered Costs (TDC) methodology, giving consideration to the global supply demand
  • Lean and monitor supplier performance and expedite parts where necessary to support business operations and customer requirements
  • Conduct supplier assessments both remotely and on site
  • Lead, manage and actively support all cross functional cost management activities, including Value Add and Value Engineering activities, Product Lifecycle management and BoM maintenance and management
  • Adherence to the supplier nomination process for all sourcing activities required to support business operations and customer requirements
  • Support the Global Commodity Management team in the development and execution of Procurement Commodity Strategies
  • Support cross functional reviews to identify and deliver improved supplier performance and efficiency gains
  • Mentor the In Series Commodity Manager
  • Perform other duties as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a buyer or similar Procurement role
  • Strong background in low volume, high mix manufacturing or operational environments
  • Experience of working within cross functional teams
  • Proficient in working with MS Office and ERP systems
  • Prior experience in rapid growth environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organisational and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent time management with an ability to balance multiple projects and timelines and to meet deadlines
  • Prepared to occasionally travel for business purposes
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
