We're looking for an experienced and analytical Senior Service Charge Analyst to join our Service Charge & Specialist Leasehold Services team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a service charge professional who enjoys working with complex financial information, investigating issues, and driving continuous improvement. You'll play a key role in ensuring service charges are accurate, compliant, transparent and supported by robust controls and audit trails. You'll also act as a senior technical expert within the team, helping to maintain high standards and develop best practice across the function.

Working closely with colleagues across Finance, Operational Services and Leasehold teams, you'll help deliver excellent outcomes for residents while ensuring compliance with lease obligations, regulatory requirements and service charge legislation.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing, reviewing and validating service charge estimates and actual accounts.
  • Leading complex reconciliations, investigations and cost allocation reviews.
  • Ensuring service charge calculations are accurate, compliant and fully auditable.
  • Reviewing recoverability of costs in accordance with lease agreements.
  • Identifying risks, discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Supporting year-end reconciliation activities and assurance processes.
  • Providing technical guidance on service charge legislation, best practice and compliance.
  • Analysing large datasets to identify trends, anomalies and data quality issues.
  • Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Working with operational and finance teams to improve forecasting accuracy and cost transparency.
  • Assisting with complex resident queries, complaints and disputes.
  • Supporting system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Acting as a senior point of reference, providing guidance and coaching to colleagues.

About You

We're looking for someone with strong technical expertise, excellent analytical skills and a passion for delivering accurate, high-quality work.

You'll be comfortable managing complex workloads, working independently and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders. You'll also have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to improving processes and resident outcomes.

You'll bring

  • Experience working within service charges, housing finance or a similar technical financial environment.
  • Strong understanding of service charge principles, lease obligations and cost recoverability.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing service charge budgets, reconciliations and financial analysis.
  • Experience investigating and resolving complex service charge issues and queries.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience working with large datasets and multiple systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • The ability to explain technical and financial information clearly to different audiences.
  • Experience supporting quality assurance, controls, process improvements or continuous improvement activities.
  • A collaborative approach with experience working across finance, operational and service charge functions.
