Senior Service Consultant
Location: Bristol or Malvern
Salary: £75,000–£80,000 depending on experience, plus benefits
About the Role
Our clients are looking for an experienced Senior Service Consultant to join their team in either Bristol or Malvern.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering complex services for customers across the UK defence and government sectors. You will provide senior-level subject matter expertise across the service portfolio, with a particular focus on bid and pre-bid activities, service design, service integration and operational delivery.
You will work closely with customer-facing teams, technical specialists, delivery partners and senior stakeholders to develop robust, compliant and operationally effective service solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Act as a subject matter expert across the service lifecycle, providing specialist input into bids, proposals and customer engagements.
- Lead and contribute to bid and pre-bid activities, identifying customer and business requirements and developing appropriate service and support models, including cost estimates.
- Design and shape service integration, support and management models that meet customer requirements and are operationally sustainable.
- Work directly with Ministry of Defence (MoD) and wider government stakeholders, as well as delivery partners, to develop effective and compliant solutions.
- Translate complex customer requirements into clear, practical and deliverable service solutions.
- Ensure proposed solutions align with the Service and Technical Operations policies, standards and processes.
- Work collaboratively with Service Design & Transition (SD&T), Service Operations and Technical Operations teams to ensure service design packages are complete, approved and ready for successful transition into service.
- Apply your understanding of MoD procurement, bid processes, frameworks and governance requirements to produce high-quality and compliant bid submissions.
- Develop and maintain key service artefacts, including service models, integration diagrams, high-level plans, service design packages and operational documentation.
- Influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, building alignment between customers, partners and internal teams.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy, using your expertise and judgement to resolve complex service challenges with minimal direction.

Requirements
- Significant experience in Service Design, Service Architecture and Service Development within large and complex organisations.
- Demonstrable experience of leading or contributing to bid and pre-bid activities, including developing service inputs, support models and costed responses.
- Experience working within Ministry of Defence or wider government environments, with an understanding of governance, risk, operational constraints and customer expectations.
- Previous experience contributing to MoD bid submissions, including interpreting requirements, aligning solutions to relevant frameworks and producing compliant service documentation.
- A strong track record of engaging, influencing and communicating with senior stakeholders, customers, partners and internal teams.
- Experience producing high-quality service artefacts, such as service models, integration diagrams, service design packages, transition plans and operational documentation.
- The ability to work independently, manage ambiguity and provide confident recommendations on complex service challenges.

Essential Qualifications
- ITIL 4 Managing Professional, or another advanced ITIL certification beyond Foundation level.
- SAFe certification, or demonstrable experience working within a SAFe environment.
