Senior Delivery Managers – Bespoke Software / Public Sector Consultancy

About the Company

A well-established UK technology consultancy delivering bespoke software solutions to major public sector clients, including central government and healthcare bodies. Known for large-scale, complex digital transformation work and long-standing public sector partnerships.

Role Overview

Due to significant growth, our client is hiring multiple Senior Delivery Managers across the UK to lead the delivery of bespoke software programmes for public sector clients. You'll own delivery from mobilisation through to live service, managing budgets in excess of £5m, leading agile delivery teams, and acting as the senior point of contact for client stakeholders at executive level.

This is a consultancy-side role — you'll need direct experience delivering software built specifically for a client, not off-the-shelf product implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of bespoke software programmes for public sector clients
  • Own budgets of £5m+, including forecasting, tracking, and commercial reporting
  • Staff and manage agile delivery teams, including resourcing and pricing
  • Build and maintain senior stakeholder relationships across client organisations
  • Manage risk, governance, and reporting across complex, multi-workstream programmes
  • Identify and convert follow-on business opportunities within existing accounts
  • Ensure delivery quality and client satisfaction throughout the programme lifecycle
  • Support continuous improvement of delivery practices across the wider business

What You'll Need

Essential:

  • Consultancy background delivering into UK public sector clients
  • Proven bespoke software delivery experience (not product/SaaS)
  • Experience managing budgets of £5m+ on complex programmes

Desirable:

  • Formal project/programme management certification (PRINCE2, Agile PM, etc.)
  • Track record of winning follow-on business from existing clients
