Senior Service Engineer at DESMI, Newcastle under Lyme

A glimpse into the role

Role

As a Senior Service Engineer, you’ll be a key contributor to expanding DESMI’s UK service operations. Your role mainly revolves around:

  • Technical support & service: Troubleshoot and resolve complex pump and system issues—both remotely and on-site—including commissioning, maintenance, and fault finding
  • Customer engagement: Build and maintain strong customer relationships by understanding their needs and ensuring high-quality service delivery
  • Business development: Identify service opportunities and support lead generation through proactive customer interaction and close collaboration with the sales team
  • Project execution & process improvement: Take ownership of service projects and contribute to the continuous improvement of service processes
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, and sales to ensure service delivery aligns with business goals

You will be based in Newcastle under Lyme, UK, working closely with both the local DESMI team and the international Global Service team. You will represent DESMI on customer sites across the UK and take lead in developing our local service business.

As someone who will join our service team, we are looking for a technically skilled and self-driven problem-solver who brings hands-on experience and a strong sense of ownership.

We Also Imagine That You

  • Hold a background in electrical, automation, or marine engineering
  • Have solid hands-on experience servicing industrial pump systems
  • Are familiar with the maritime industry and its standards
  • Bring customer service and/or sales support experience
  • Thrive in a field-based role with a high level of autonomy
  • It is a requirement that you have UK driving license
