Senior Settlements Analyst
Application Deadline: 23 October 2026
Department: Finance
Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time
Location: Leeds Office, United Kingdom
Description
TTEP UK & Ireland Investments are recruiting a Senior Settlements Analyst to lead the day-to-day operation of GB Settlements, combining hands-on delivery of BAU settlement activities with senior operational ownership, coaching, and project delivery.
The role will ensure the accurate and timely settlement of TTEP's GB activities across electricity, gas, carbon, Energy Management, tolling arrangements, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and ancillary services, acting as the key point of escalation for operational settlement matters.
Working closely with Trading, Commercial Finance, and internal and external technical development resources, the role will own key settlement processes, calculations, and controls; support credit activities; and provide the subject-matter expertise needed to implement new commercial arrangements and continually improve and automate settlement processes.
This role is based at our Thorpe Park office in Leeds on a hybrid basis, with three days per week in the office. Regular travel to our London office will also be required.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Finance Officer, the key duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Leading the day-to-day GB Settlements operation, prioritising workload, overseeing delivery, and acting as the first point of escalation for the GB Settlements Analyst, Finance, Trading, and external counterparties.
- Delivering core BAU settlement activity, including trade checks, confirmations, reconciliations, invoicing, and month-end processes within required deadlines.
- Acting as the GB Settlements subject-matter lead, developing strong BSC/Elexon expertise, and owning key settlement calculations, controls, and exception reviews across electricity, gas, carbon, BESS, and ancillary services.
- Investigating settlement discrepancies and reconciling items, working with internal teams, counterparties, and market operators to resolve or challenge issues promptly.
- Leading GB Trading credit and collateral activities, including monitoring exposure, postings, and requirements for existing and new counterparties.
- Leading settlement implementation for new trading structures and commercial arrangements, including Energy Management, tolling, BESS, and intercompany relationships.
- Owning the operational use of the ETRM system within GB Settlements, ensuring traded positions are accurately captured, validated, and reflected in downstream settlement and notification processes, including Elexon notifications. Working closely with Trading and technical support resources to resolve data or workflow issues and improve associated controls.
- Coaching and developing the GB Settlements Analyst, ensuring knowledge transfer, cross-training, and clear documentation of key processes and controls.
- Working closely with internal and external data, systems, and development resources to define business rules, calculations, controls, and exceptions, and to test and embed automated settlement processes and analytical tools.
- Driving continuous improvement in settlement processes, controls, and reporting, taking ownership of projects from design through to implementation.
- Maintaining effective stakeholder and counterparty relationships and supporting relevant regulatory reporting, market registrations, and compliance activities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
