Job Title – SharePoint SME
Location
Compass Centre, TW6 2GW - 3 days onsite
Contract Length / Type
6 month contract inside IR35
Pay Rate / Salary
£400-550 per day
Role Purpose
SharePoint SME for covering SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Viva Suite, and other components of Modern Workplace. This is a technical role. The role will primarily be working on maintaining and enhancing the existing SharePoint Online tenant, identifying, and supporting opportunities to improve and develop processes and governance.
This will be achieved through implementing best practice for SharePoint including end user training, site provisioning, and permissions management in line with modern flat architecture for SharePoint.
- Gather requirements from the business for creating solutions across the Microsoft stack, including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and the Power Platform.
- Development and management of custom content including web parts and adaptive cards.
- Focus on ethos of simple and structured but not over-engineered.
- Monitor and improve the search capabilities of SharePoint online.
- Provide support to business-critical solutions developed on or using SharePoint.
- Support with the deployment of new Microsoft platforms and solutions such as Viva.

- Build user policies, guidelines, training, deal with ad hoc requests/questions.
- Handle and mitigate risk, audit outcomes, and ensure alignment to any cyber security changes (or challenges).
- Monitor and improve the search capabilities of SharePoint online.
- Support the SharePoint roadmap and associated communications, updates to any documentation, systems config and reporting, new release training.
- Monitor Intranet search results and maintain search terms, rankings, and weightings accordingly.
- Provide expertise on steering governance and policy to provide a service built on best practice.
- Work with all SharePoint Admins across all BUs, ensuring they are correctly in place, have access to training, understand policies on permissions (work with Cyber security team and Data Privacy on any risks, issues these teams find with SharePoint).
- Develop and upgrade SharePoint to bring it more in line with current best practice around site architecture and Microsoft Search.
- Provide SharePoint developments within the business, promoting best practice and a standardised approach to SharePoint management.
- Develop web parts and adaptive cards to supplement and improve business processes on SharePoint.
- Support with the automation of processes through Powershell.

Qualifications and Experience
- SharePoint management and development experience
- Proficient in SharePoint Online and other Microsoft 365 technologies such as Microsoft Teams and Viva with minimum of 7 years of experience.
- Knowledge and experience of developing SPFx web parts and adaptive cards.
- Previous experience of creating policies and governance required to ensure good behaviours and practices, preferably following current best practice for SharePoint Online.
- Experience of automating administrative processes through Power Automate, Power Apps and PowerShell (including PNP).
- Experience of customising SharePoint lists through JSON.
- Experience with SharePoint migrations.

- Analytical, ability to understand and gather requirements of the business for creation of new processes or further development of existing processes.

Desirable:
- IT Project management knowledge or qualifications (Azure Dev Ops or equivalent)
- Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms
- Knowledge of Sharegate
