Are you an experienced Senior SHE Manager with a proven track record of delivering health, safety and environmental excellence on major Network Rail infrastructure schemes?
We have an exciting opportunity to join a significant station development project at Wixams Station, currently in the design phase and progressing into construction in early 2027. This is a flagship project that will play a key role in enhancing rail connectivity and passenger experience.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Project Lead, with a functional reporting line to the Business Unit Head of SHEQ, you will be responsible for leading all health, safety and environmental activities across the project lifecycle.
As Senior SHE Manager, you will drive a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards, and act as a key liaison between the project team, client, stakeholders and supply chain partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the health, safety and environmental performance of the Wixams Station project.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining safe systems of work and site processes in line with company standards.
- Providing SHE leadership throughout mobilisation and construction activities.
- Building strong relationships with the client, stakeholders, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Monitoring compliance with HSE legislation, Network Rail requirements and company standards.
- Supporting project delivery whilst ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance.
- Promoting continuous improvement and best practice across all project activities.

About The Project
Major station scheme being delivered by the Rail Business Unit.
- Currently in design, moving into construction in early 2027.
- Main site activities due to mobilise in early 2027 to support programme delivery.
- High-profile, complex rail infrastructure project with significant stakeholder engagement.
What We're Looking For
To be successful, you will have:
- Extensive experience in a Senior SHE leadership role within the rail sector.
- Previous experience delivering major Network Rail infrastructure projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Network Rail standards and requirements.
- Excellent understanding of UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Proven ability to influence, engage and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working closely with project teams, clients and supply chain partners on complex infrastructure schemes.
- Strong communication, leadership and relationship management skills.
