Allstaff Marketing Division is delighted to bring to the market the role of Senior Shopify Ecommerce Lead.

This is a permanent, full-time role based in Inchinnan, Renfrewshire. Please note, this is a fully onsite role. There is no remote or work-from-home element.

Hours of work: 9.00am–5.30pm Monday to Thursday, with a 4.00pm finish on Friday.

Our client is a growing manufacturing business with an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Senior Shopify Ecommerce Lead to join their fast-paced Ecommerce Team.

Role Overview:

As Senior Shopify Ecommerce Lead, you will take a key role in the ongoing development, maintenance and improvement of the company’s expanding Shopify environment. You will oversee the technical performance and development of 11 existing ecommerce websites, as well as taking the lead on delivering new Shopify sites across a number of brands within the business.

This role goes beyond traditional web development. We are looking for someone who can combine strong Shopify development expertise with commercial awareness and a clear understanding of the online customer journey.

Working closely with the Head of Ecommerce, you will help transform commercial ideas and objectives into effective, high-performing ecommerce solutions. You will be encouraged to use your experience to suggest improvements, identify the most appropriate technical solutions and constructively challenge ideas where necessary. The focus will be on creating websites that provide an excellent customer experience while supporting conversion and wider commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for the technical development, performance and ongoing maintenance of multiple Shopify websites.
  • Develop and launch new Shopify websites for other businesses and brands within the wider group.
  • Help shape and manage the technical roadmap for ecommerce platforms, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and future growth.
  • Identify and recommend ways to improve website usability, performance and the overall online customer journey.
  • Collaborate with marketing, ecommerce and other key stakeholders to turn commercial requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Maintain secure, reliable and high-performing websites in line with recognised Shopify best practice.
  • Create and adapt Shopify themes, sections, applications and integrations in response to business requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues efficiently, while proactively identifying potential problems before they affect the business.
  • Make effective use of AI-assisted development tools to support faster delivery and high-quality development standards.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven commercial experience developing ecommerce websites using Shopify.
  • Strong working knowledge of Shopify, Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Previous experience creating, developing and maintaining Shopify stores.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to make technical information clear and accessible to non-technical colleagues.
  • The ability to work independently, organise workload effectively and balance priorities across multiple websites.

Desirable Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • A genuine interest in ecommerce, digital retail and online customer behaviour.
  • Knowledge of conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and ecommerce user experience principles.
  • Experience using analytics and customer behaviour data to identify and recommend website improvements.
  • Experience connecting Shopify with third-party platforms, such as ERP, CRM, payment and fulfilment systems.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development processes and contemporary development tools.
