Talentedge Tech is looking for a Senior Shopify Engineer to join a small but high-performing engineering team building a best-in-class digital commerce experience for a fast-growing, customer-led business.
This is a specialist role for someone who knows the Shopify ecosystem deeply and can take ownership of the storefront experience from architecture through to production. You’ll work closely with Product, UX/UI, and other Engineering teams to turn high-fidelity designs and complex commercial requirements into fast, scalable, and reusable commerce experiences.
The ambition is to build a technology ecosystem that demonstrates what is possible when an enterprise business combines Shopify with strong engineering practices, thoughtful architecture, and modern development tooling.
You’ll have significant ownership over the storefront and will help establish the patterns, standards, and best practices that other engineers can build upon.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own and evolve a high-performance Shopify storefront using OS 2.0, Liquid, theme blocks, and modern Shopify APIs.
- Turn UX/UI designs into pixel-perfect, responsive, and reusable customer experiences.
- Build membership, pricing, and entitlement journeys across the storefront, cart, checkout, and customer account.
- Use Shopify Functions and Checkout Extensibility to enforce pricing, promotions, and customer eligibility securely.
- Build flexible content and commerce experiences using metafields, metaobjects, and Shopify Markets.
- Develop and maintain customer account and subscription experiences, including membership and account management.
- Own storefront performance, Core Web Vitals, and reliable analytics/event tracking.
- Integrate third-party commerce tools while maintaining a clean, scalable Shopify architecture.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining strong engineering standards.
- Own testing, CI/CD, releases, and code quality, while mentoring and raising engineering standards across the team.
- Mentoring and coaching a Mid Level Shopify Engineer

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- A strong understanding of commerce edge cases and the ability to identify problems before they become production incidents.
- Experience integrating third-party Shopify applications and services.
