Role Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Senior Sister to join Steffan Ward at Glangwili Hospital. Steffan Ward is a 18-bedded Gastro, Oncology and Haematology specialist ward.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated nurse looking to step into a senior leadership role within a supportive, cohesive and forward-thinking team.
The post holder will provide visible, compassionate leadership and support the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient centered care. You will be responsible for coordinating the ward on a day-to-day basis, responding to changing clinical priorities, and ensuring that evidence-based care standards are consistently achieved and monitored.
The role will involve working closely with the multidisciplinary team to support patient flow, discharge planning and holistic care, while ensuring strong communication with patients and their families at all times.

You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be confident in supporting staff wellbeing, performance and professional development.
Main Duties of the Job
- Provide visible, professional nursing leadership
- Develop the core nursing team in the delivery of compassionate, high quality effective patient centred nursing care
- Lead by example empowering the team to maintain patient safety, improve patient care/experience ensuring high standards of nursing care
- Develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships with clinical specialists from across nursing and the wider multi-disciplinary team, working in partnership to meet the patient needs
- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hospitals:
- Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest
- Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire
- Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
Primary and Community Services:
- 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Services:
- Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
