Band 7 Senior Sister/ Charge Nurse - Clinical Effectiveness

22.5 hours over 3 days covering maternity leave

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sister / Charge Nurse to join our Gynaecology Governance Team, working across the division, covering maternity leave over a 12 month period. Clinical effectiveness incorporates numerous patient focused initiatives striving to improve patient care and safety through a wide variety of activities including incident investigation, monitoring effectiveness, developing practices and facilitating learning, whilst sharing and celebrating achievements.

In addition to providing secondary women’s healthcare services for the local population, Gynaecology at St Mary’s Hospital also provides tertiary services to the North West in Gynaecological Oncology, Urogynaecology and Reproductive Medicine.

Challenging, interesting and rewarding, the job requires you to have a broad range of experience and skills including excellent communication skills, prior experience & involvement with improving patient care standards and evidence of diplomacy & negotiation skills. Applicants for the position will need to be enthusiastic and have a passion from improving clinical practices and promoting patient safety in women’s healthcare.

The post holder has a key leadership and management role at a senior level within the Clinical Effectiveness team.

Reporting to the Matron for Governance, the post holder will provide specialist skills and knowledge to support the delivery of high quality clinical effectiveness related activities enabling the delivery of high quality gynaecology care within the division.
