Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated nursing professional to provide clinical and operational leadership within the Emergency Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care that meets the needs and expectations of patients while supporting the wider objectives of the Directorate and clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership and Management
- Provide visible leadership within the Emergency Department, ensuring safe, effective, patient-focused care.
- Support day-to-day operational management, including staffing, rotas, and resource allocation.
- Lead and supervise nursing teams, healthcare support workers, and students.
- Contribute to recruitment, appraisal, induction, and staff development.
Clinical Care
- Deliver evidence-based emergency nursing care, including assessment, triage, and emergency interventions.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to support patient flow and discharge planning.
- Maintain high standards of medicines management, safeguarding, infection prevention, and patient safety.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and families.

- Ensure safe and cost-effective use of equipment and resources.
Education and Staff Development
- Mentor students, newly qualified nurses, and support staff.
- Support induction, training, and professional development.
- Promote reflective practice and evidence-based care.
