Senior Site-Based HVAC / Heat Pump Engineer
Location: London
Salary: £50,000–£60,000 DOE + Company Vehicle + Fuel Card + Overtime + Benefits
Pure Engineering Services Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced Senior HVAC / Heat Pump Engineer to join our service and maintenance team.
About the Role
This will be a predominantly site-based role at a major residential development in London, where the successful engineer will take day-to-day technical ownership of a complex HVAC installation incorporating Daikin Altherma heat pump systems, Daikin VRV/VRF equipment and associated hydronic circuits.
There will also be a requirement to attend other PES client sites when required, providing technical support, fault finding and engineering cover across our wider portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day engineering attendance at the primary London site
- Reactive fault finding and diagnosis
- Planned preventative maintenance
- Investigation of recurring and intermittent faults
- Diagnosis of refrigerant, electrical, controls and water-side issues
- Repair and replacement of failed components
- Liaison with site management, residents and the PES management team
- Producing clear and detailed engineering reports
- Working with manufacturers and specialist technical support where required
- Supporting other PES client sites when needed
- Taking ownership of faults from initial diagnosis through to satisfactory resolution

Essential Experience
- Strong practical experience with Daikin Altherma systems
- Strong experience with Daikin VRV / VRF systems
- Detailed understanding of hydronic heating and cooling circuits
- Pumps, pressurisation units and expansion vessels
- Flow and circulation issues
- Air removal and system venting
- Water quality and system cleanliness
- Fault finding on sealed heating and chilled water circuits
- Strong refrigerant circuit knowledge
- Strong electrical fault-finding ability
- HVAC controls and communication systems
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and manufacturers' technical information
- F-Gas Category 1
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
