The Opportunity
As a Senior Site Engineer, you'll lead multiple engineering work fronts, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of complex ground engineering packages.
Working within an NEC4 Alliance environment, you'll provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and work closely with project, commercial, and construction teams to drive programme, quality, and commercial performance.
🔨 What You'll Be Doing
Site Leadership
- Lead engineering delivery across multiple work fronts
- Coordinate engineering resources and subcontractors
- Resolve technical challenges on site
- Ensure compliance with RAMS, permits, and ITPs
- Drive quality and close-out of NCRs
Health & Safety
- Champion a strong safety culture
- Lead investigations and root cause analysis
- Deliver site briefings and toolbox talks
- Audit safety documentation and compliance
Quality
- Manage QA processes for specialist ground engineering works
- Monitor hold points and inspections
- Produce client-ready QA reports
- Ensure work is delivered Right First Time

- Manage short-term programmes and sequencing
- Monitor productivity and critical path
- Support delay analysis and recovery planning
- Drive weekly performance reviews
Commercial & Contracts
- Support NEC4 contract administration
- Prepare and manage Early Warnings, Compensation Events, and change notifications
- Monitor cost and value performance
- Support forecasting and earned value reporting
- Manage subcontractor performance
Leadership
- Mentor and develop junior engineers
- Work collaboratively across engineering, commercial, quality, and operations teams
- Build strong client and stakeholder relationships
✅ What We're Looking For
Essential
- 5+ years' experience delivering civil engineering or major infrastructure projects
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
- SMSTS & CSCS
- Strong background in heavy civil engineering or ground engineering
- Experience with NEC4 contracts
- Knowledge of Early Warnings, Compensation Events, and programme management
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience using:
- Primavera P6 or MS Project
- Excel
- AutoCAD
- CEMAR

Desirable
- IEng or CEng (or working towards)
- NEC4 accreditation
- Experience within Alliance contracting environments
- Incident investigation or Appointed Person qualifications
- Experience negotiating Compensation Events
